We visited Munchen (Munich) to honor the White Rose members at their memorial and exhibition.
The White Rose (die Weiße Rose) was a non-violent/intellectual resistance group in Nazi Germany, consisting of students from the University of Munich and their philosophy professor. The group became known for an anonymous leaflet campaign, lasting from June 1942 until February 1943, that called for active opposition to German dictator Adolf Hitler's regime.
Six years ago, Emily Rose was in a World Premier music about the White Rose at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Since the performance she has studied the compassionate work of the White Rose members and has a special place in her heart for them.
Thanks for writing and posting all these great photos. Beautiful shot of Emily there. Wow. I hope you're all having experiences that inspire and excite you- it certainly looks that way. Tremendously cool. Love, T
ReplyDeleteWe're in Paris and I am catching up on our Blog while we rest up for the next day. (The Paris Blog will come next week, most likely).
ReplyDeleteWe are inspired and loving our trip and finding hard to believe we are actually here! It's almost like a dream/movie.
The photo of Emily in Munich is in honor of her upcoming birthday. This Sunday, August 16th, she'll celebrate 17years, with her favorite flourless chocolate cake - yum!
